Development of Mathematical Models Which Characterize Human Inhalation Exposures
Toluene disocyanate (TDI) is an ingredient in modern polyurethane elastomeric sealants. Use of these products under poorly ventilated conditions or nearby sensitized individuals may lead to respiratory distress and exacerbate asthmatic conditions.
To answer questions a client raised about TDI exposure potential during application of a specific product, a mathematical model was developed by our scientists to characterize human inhalation exposure potential and validated through product use within an exposure isolation chamber.
