RHP’s laboratory in Elk Grove Village provides light microscopy capabilities for analytical services such as asbestos testing, microbial (mold) analysis, and fire residue (char/soot/ash) evaluations of building materials. RHP’s scientists use Polarized Light Microscopy (PLM), Phase Contrast Microscopy (PCM), and reflected light stereo-microscopy techniques to evaluate material samples and help answer important questions that inform scopes of work for contractor renovations and property remediation on insurance loss claims. Our state-of-the-art laboratory includes modern equipment such as Leica microscopes with digital image capture capabilities so that observations and findings are defensibly documented. The laboratory is equipped with a HEPA-filtered fume-hood to handle hazardous materials like asbestos, mold, BSL-1 pathogens, metals, acids, solvents, and flammables.
