Rod Harvey, P.E., CIH, CSP, CHMM

Rod Harvey has over 37 years of experience in the environmental health and safety consulting field. He has broad experience providing industrial hygiene, indoor air quality, safety, and environmental services to a wide range of clients in both the private and public sectors including industrial, real estate, health care, construction, and governmental sectors.  Mr. Harvey received his bachelor’s degree in biology from Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin and his master’s degree in Environmental Engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago, Illinois. He is a Certified Industrial Hygienist, Certified Safety Professional, Certified Hazardous Materials Manager, and a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Illinois. He also holds a variety of asbestos related licenses from the Illinois Department of Public Health.

Mr. Harvey has experience with employee exposure assessments involving chemical and physical hazards, environmental health and safety auditing and training, and the development of health and safety programs. Mr. Harvey has provided presentations in the past about asbestos, silica, heat stress, hexavalent chromium, and OSHA’s medical surveillance requirements. Further he has extensive experience with asbestos, including building inspections and abatement designs.

He has conducted or directed hundreds of surveys across the country analyzing hazards, evaluating employee exposures, and assessing environmental risks.  Mr. Harvey’s areas of competence include determining OSHA compliance, training design and development, program audits, indoor environmental quality investigations, and project management. Areas of specialty include heat stress and silica exposures as well as occupational exposures in the cannabis industry.

Mr. Harvey is experienced in soil and groundwater investigations, design of remedial action plans, and remedial action completion reports in both the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency Leaking Underground Storage Tank (LUST) program and the Site Remediation Program (SRP).
