RHP Risk Management is pleased to announce that members of our Human Health Risk Sciences team, Debra Kaden, PhD, ATS; Ashish Jachak, PhD, MBA; and Melanie Buser, PhD, DABT, MPH will attend and present research at the Society of Toxicology (SOT) 65th Annual Meeting and ToxExpo on March 24-25, 2026.
The SOT Annual Meeting is one of the leading global toxicology conferences, bringing together experts in human health risk assessment, exposure science, environmental health, and regulatory toxicology. RHP’s participation highlights our team’s expertise in chemical risk assessment, Proposition 65 evaluations, exposure modeling, and emerging contaminants such as microplastics.
RHP Research Presentations at SOT 2026
Melanie Buser, PhD, DABT, MPH will present work on “Derivation of an NSRL for Vinyl Acetate” at the Society of Toxicology’s 65th Annual Meeting. She will be discussing RHP’s approach to deriving a No Significant Risk Level (NSRL) for vinyl acetate in light of the 2026 listing of VAM on OEHHA’s Proposition 65. The approach uses multiple modeling approaches to consider the effect of uncertainty and remove selection bias.
Presentation Details
Session: Derivation of an NSRL for Vinyl Acetate (Abstract #3995)
Date & Time: Tuesday, March 24 from 9:15am-11:45am
Session: Risk Assessment II
Poster #F457
Location: ToxExpo, Hall B
Ashish Jachak, PhD, MBA will present new research on “Chemical Additive Leaching and Human Exposure Potential from PVC and PE Microplastics in U.S. Drinking Water” at the Society of Toxicology’s (SOT) 65th Annual Meeting.
This poster examines the occurrence of PVC and PE microplastics in U.S. drinking-water samples and evaluates the potential for additives such as plasticizers and stabilizers to leach from these particles. Using diffusion-based modeling, the study estimates 16-hour leaching concentrations and resulting oral exposures. Results indicate that modeled exposures from most additives are well below health-based benchmarks.

Connect with RHP at the SOT Annual Meeting
Members of the RHP team, including Debra Kaden, Ashish Jachak, and Melanie Buser, will be available throughout the conference to discuss human health risk assessment, exposure science, regulatory toxicology, and Proposition 65 compliance strategies. If you are attending the 2026 Society of Toxicology Annual Meeting, we invite you to connect with our team at the poster sessions to learn more about RHP’s latest research and scientific approaches.
Visit our Human Health Risk Sciences page to learn more about how RHP’s experts can reduce uncertainty and enable confidence decision-making by delivering reliable, reproducible, and relevant data. Through early and active stakeholder engagement, we design each assessment to align with your specific goals – whether preparing a regulatory submission, supporting litigation, or evaluating a public health intervention.
